The EPOXI mission is recycling or reusing an already existing spacecraft. The spacecraft was originally designed and built for the Deep Impact mission. The spacecraft is simply called the Deep Impact flyby spacecraft or Deep Impact spacecraft. It has two instruments: HRI (with IR spectrometer) and MRI that will be used to make observations of transiting extra-solar planets (Jan-Aug 2008) and comet Hartley 2 (Nov 2010).
