Caption: This animation consists of MRI images from Oct. 15-24. During this time period, the s/c range decreased from 21,000,000 km down to 12,000,000 km. All frames are stretched (brightness) on the same scale. The movie shows Hartley 2 moving across the background starfield. Watch as the coma expands and brightens over the time period. There are small pauses and jumps in the movie every ~24 hour period during which the 16 hrs of daily observations stop and 8 hrs of image download takes place. There are also some internal reflections from bright stars that 'dance' through the movie.
