•    Comets. Your Classroom. This Spring. Be There!

Participate in NASA’s Stardust-NExT Education Materials Pilot Test!
We are looking for middle and high school science teachers willing to
use one or more of the Stardust NExT standards-aligned activities with
students in Spring 2010.

What is Stardust-NExT?
Stardust NExT (http://stardustnext.jpl.nasa.gov/) is a NASA Discovery
mission that is utilizing the existing Stardust spacecraft to flyby
comet Tempel 1 and observe changes since NASA’s Deep Impact mission
visited in 2005.

What is Stardust-NExT Education and Public Outreach?
Stardust-NExT Education and Public Outreach (E/PO) -- a team of
educators and scientists -- ensures the story of the cool science and
engineering underlying the mission comes alive for students and the
general public.

What’s NExT?
Our team has been developing hands-on, compelling materials for the
classroom to help you link your curriculum to science in the real world.
Science educators have crafted them, mission scientists have worked them
over -- now it’s time for you and your students to try them out and tell
us what you think: what needs tweaking, what rocks.

EPOXI E-News features information about the mission, its outreach web
site, and products, services, and materials available from the EPOXI
Education and Public Outreach (E/PO) team. The EPOXI mission combines
two exciting science investigations in an entirely new mission that
re-uses the Deep Impact spacecraft. The Extrasolar Planet Observation
and Characterization (EPOCh) investigation observed stars that are known
to have transiting giant planets. The Deep Impact Extended Investigation
(DIXI) of comets observes comet 103P/Hartley 2 during a close flyby in
November 2010. The EPOXI mission is a partnership among the University
of Maryland (UMD), the California Institute of Technology's Jet
Propulsion Laboratory (JPL), Ball Aerospace and Technology Corp (BATC),
and Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC). EPOXI is a NASA Discovery
